Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Don Ready (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Ready!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Samoa Joe!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ready will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Joe stays in close to Ready's body and controls the position.
Ready avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ready trying to strike off his back.
Ready keeping full guard, as Joe tries to pass.
Joe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ready's guard.
Joe blocks the strikes from Ready.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ready is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ready checks a leg kick.
A punch combination from Joe misses.
Ready uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Joe.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ready.

Joe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ready pinned against the cage. Ready gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Joe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ready's guard.

Ready avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Joe.
Ready on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ready tries to get out of the position.
Ready throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ready keeps working.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ready trying his best to control but Joe has mounted him.

Samoa Joe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Joe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ready parries the strikes from Joe easily there. Joe is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ready to escape.
Ready is trying to escape the position but Joe is controlling the position.
Joe tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ready's legs.
Joe avoids the strikes from the bottom by Ready.
Ready wants to get back to his feet but Joe is dominant here and he's now got Ready's back!
Ready tries to escape but Joe has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Can Ready hold on?! Joe is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Ready is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Joe tries to get the hooks in deep but Ready pushed the leg off.

Joe cracks Ready with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Ready from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Joe frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

I've got Joe winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
