Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Amish (ranked 3016 p4p, 6337 weight class) and Eric Genova (ranked 380 p4p, 0 weight class). Amish comes to the cage accompanied by SouthSide Of Auckland. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Amish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Genova! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amish throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Genova's waist but Genova gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amish off to one side. Genova stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Genova wants it to stay on the feet. Amish misses with a takedown attempt and Genova counters into the clinch. Nicely done. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Amish. That's going to take a lot out of him. Genova breaks from the clinch.
Amish tries for a takedown but Genova circles away easily and Genova counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Amish shoots and misses and Genova counters by moving into the clinch. Genova will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Amish up against the cage. Genova manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amish fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Amish displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Genova. Nice sprawl there from Genova as Amish shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amish tries for a takedown but Genova sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Genova swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Genova shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Amish but Amish pushes him off and we're back to square one. Genova fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Amish darts in looking for a takedown but Genova gets double underhooks and turns Amish into the cage. Amish looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Amish is breathing heavily. Amish closes the distance and clinches up with Genova, looking for a takedown. Amish pushes Genova against the cage but Genova circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Genova shoots in but Amish avoids the takedown attempt easily. Amish shoots in for a takedown but Genova shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Genova closes the distance and pushes Amish back into the cage. Genova pulls Amish into guard.
Amish thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Genova is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Genova pulls Amish in close to prevent any damage. Amish postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Genova is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Amish, into his guard. Genova is looking to stand up but Amish won't let him. Genova tries to free his leg and advance position but Amish is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Genova controls the pace. Genova stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Amish has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Genova manages to get his head free but now Amish has transitioned to an armbar! Genova grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Amish! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gabriel Amish! Gabriel Amish spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. The defeated Eric Genova had this to say: 'Poop'.
