PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Escobar (ranked 3225 p4p, 3978 weight class) and Peter Rasco (ranked 401 p4p, 464 weight class). Rasco has chosen Without me as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Peter Rasco will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

Rasco gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rasco pulls guard.
Rasco keeping full guard, as Escobar tries to pass.
Rasco wants to hit a sweep here but Escobar passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rasco there!

Escobar working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Rasco defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Escobar.
Rasco is desperately trying to improve his position but Escobar has a good base and remains in mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rasco wants to hold on but Escobar pushes him away.

Escobar stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Escobar has a takedown stuffed.
As Escobar backs off Rasco throws a huge counter combo but Escobar manages to avoid it all.

Escobar is trying to pull guard but Rasco turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
Escobar keeps control of Rasco as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Rasco has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Escobar to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rasco is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Escobar pulls down on the head and he's put Rasco to sleep! This one is all over!

Dante Escobar decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
