With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tatu Kurri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Bronson! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.

Bronson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Bronson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kurri throws an off balance right hand
and Bronson counters with a stiff right hand. A jab from Bronson misses. Kurri throws out a loose jab but Bronson uses good head movement to avoid it. Kurri tries to bum rush Bronson with a series of wild strikes but Bronson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tatu Kurri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kurri looks to throw the jab but Bronson is out of range. Kurri lands a nice looking body shot.

Kurri gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bronson. Bronson throws a quick inside leg kick. Kurri fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

He catches Bronson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kurri landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Kurri throwing strikes but Bronson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Kurri is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at K.O Heaven, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Kurri struggling a bit here. Bronson tries to advance to mount but Kurri denies him. Bronson moves into full mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kurri wants to control but Bronson is having none of it. Kurri working to try and regain half guard.
Bronson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kurri has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Let's hope that Bronson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurri is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bronson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kurri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kurri regains half guard. Well, if Bronson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kurri moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kurri has his foot on Bronson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bronson works his way back into a safe position though. Bronson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bronson wants to control from the top but Kurri keeps moving. Bronson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bronson is adopting a defensive guard. Kurri postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kurri slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kurri is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bronson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bronson wants to control but Kurri postures up. That was a close round but I would say that Tatu Kurri will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Kurri throws a lazy right hand but Bronson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kurri throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bronson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kurri will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bronson throws the kick towards the body but Kurri avoids it. Kurri is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Kurri lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Bronson is looking to land body kicks. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kurri!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kurri throws a jab when Bronson was well out of range. Bronson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bronson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Bronson has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Bronson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bronson duly obliges. Kurri moves out of range of the body kick. A telegraphed right hand from Kurri misses the target. Kurri moves away from the strike by Bronson. Bronson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bronson wants it to stay on the feet. Kurri misses with a hook
and Bronson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bronson cracks Kurri with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bronson swings for the body but Kurri moves out of range.

That could be painful for both fighters. Bronson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kurri. A swing and a miss from Kurri. Bronson scores with a jab. Kurri acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Bronson swings for the body but Kurri moves out of range.

Kurri takes one on the button. Kurri misses with a takedown attempt - Bronson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bronson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kurri with a body shot. Bronson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tatu Kurri. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bronson slips under a jab. Bronson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kurri shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bronson pinned against the cage. Bronson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bronson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Bronson cracks Kurri with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Some wild striking there from Kurri.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bronson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kurri - the referee stops the clock and Bronson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kurri. Bronson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Kurri looking to score a takedown here. Bronson is defending well but Kurri drives through and ends up in Bronson's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bronson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kurri is really struggling to control Bronson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Bronson looking for a sweep. Not yet Bronson, not yet. Bronson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bronson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kurri throws out the jab. Bronson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kurri tests Bronson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kurri thows a leg kick but Bronson checks it letting Bronson counter with a right hand. Bronson staying out of range there. Bronson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kurri gets his way!

Bronson needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Kurri scores with punches to the body. Bronson prevents Kurri from getting a body triangle. Kurri is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
