Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Logan Trilly (ranked 3028 p4p, 3090 weight class) and Joe Hooks (ranked 317 p4p, 324 weight class). Logan Trilly could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joe Hooks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Logan Trilly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Hooks! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trilly shoots in but no luck this time. Hooks looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hooks shoots in and drives through. Trilly sprawls well. Trilly definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Trilly fails to land the takedown. Trilly tries to keep at a distance but Hooks has taken the fight into the clinch. Trilly gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hooks regains guard.
Hooks has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Trilly is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Hooks is defending well against a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Trilly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hooks lands a right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A nice right hand lands inside from Hooks. He's simply no match for Hooks on the ground. Hooks wants to work for an arm triangle but Trilly is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hooks grinds an elbow into Trilly's temple. Hooks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hooks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hooks has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Hooks scores with a hook to the body. Trilly takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Trilly tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hooks defends well and Trilly ends up having to push Hooks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Hooks connects with a looping right hand.
Trilly pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Trilly has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Hooks lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hooks clinches. Hooks is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hooks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hooks goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Trilly tries to land a front kick but Hooks steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Trilly takes one to the chin there. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Trilly is defended easily by Hooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hooks dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Hooks jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Trilly looks to throw the jab but Hooks is out of range. Hooks lands a body shot.
Trilly walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hooks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Trilly to the ground. Hooks is now in Trilly's guard. Trilly keeping moving, preventing Hooks from controlling successfully. Hooks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hooks has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trilly has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Hooks looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trilly tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hooks trying to control the position from guard on top but Trilly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Trilly chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hooks can pounce on him.
Hooks stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Trilly circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trilly fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Trilly takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Hooks. Hooks cracks Trilly with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Hooks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trilly moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hooks lands a jab to the nose. A jab from Hooks does it's job there. Hooks might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nice uppercut lands for Hooks. That snapped Trilly's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hooks closes the distance and lands a one-two. Hooks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Trilly is trying to defend but Hooks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hooks looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Trilly is looking for a sweep. Hooks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hooks is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hooks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Trilly is just riding it out for now. Hooks eventually gives up the hold. Hooks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Trilly has managed to free his arm - good work.

Trilly on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Trilly tries to get out of the position. Hooks is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Trilly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hooks advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Trilly takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Trilly fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hooks looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hooks lands a nice looking body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Trilly. Trilly gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Hooks catches Trilly with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooks sizes up Trilly with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Trilly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hooks sprawls well initially but Trilly persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hooks has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Trilly is on him like a limpet, forcing Hooks back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hooks lands a right hand. Hooks throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Trillys head.

Hooks gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hooks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A jab from Hooks finds it's way through Trilly's defenses. Joe Hooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut there from Hooks. Joe Hooks seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice takedown defense from Hooks. No joy for Trilly on that attempt. Hooks looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Trilly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hooks lands the left hand. Hooks bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Hooks misses with a double jab.

As Trilly backs off Hooks throws a huge counter combo but Trilly manages to avoid it all. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hooks fails to land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hooks rushes Trilly and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trilly's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Trilly works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hooks has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Trilly off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Good exchange - Hooks coming out on top. Horrible takedown attempt by Trilly or perhaps it was just good defense by Hooks, which made it look bad. Hooks scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Trilly gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Trilly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hooks as he jumps to the side. Hooks manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Trilly on his heels. He'll look to pass Trilly's guard now, I'm sure. Hooks pushing down on Trilly's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hooks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trilly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hooks is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Trilly is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joe Hooks! Joe Hooks decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
