Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Adelai Niska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Todd!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niska fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Todd is looking to slow Niska down with leg kicks.
Niska tries to clinch up but Todd circles away and keeps his distance.
Todd moves out of range as Niska throws a body kick.
Niska blocks a head kick by Todd.
Niska fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Niska throws a lazy head kick
and Todd counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Niska thinking.
Todd connects with a solid leg kick.
Todd circles away from the clinch attempt

and Todd counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Todd looking to finish!

Todd slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Todd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Niska shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Todd's guard.
Niska stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Todd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Horrible takedown by Niska or perhaps it was just good defense by Todd which made him look bad.

Niska jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Todd walks away with a smile on his face. Niska gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Todd counters with a slapping leg kick.
Todd throws a body kick that misses.
Jason Todd seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fight stays on the outside here - Niska looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Todd counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Todd with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Todd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Niska wants to break the clinch but can't.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Todd.
Todd stops a takedown attempt from Niska.
Niska is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Todd is keeping busy.
Todd connects with a knee to the head.
Todd using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Niska has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Niska jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Todd walks away with a smile on his face. Niska gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Niska closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Niska lands in his opponent's guard.

Niska might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Niska tries to stand but Todd is controlling from the bottom.
Todd wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Todd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Niska is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Todd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Niska. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Niska thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Niska is pulling down on Todd's head to control his posture.
Niska doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Todd is sitting in close to Niska's body. Niska has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Todd is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Todd is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Niska.
