Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anton Ibarra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Distant Thunder! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Ibarra misses the target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Thunder! But no joy. Ibarra seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Ibarra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thunder swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ibarra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thunder.
Ibarra closes the distance and clinches. A nice left hand lands by Thunder.
Thunder lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ibarra backwards. Thunder lands a shot to the body. Thunder lands with a short shot to the head. Thunder ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Thunder no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ibarra wanted to stand there but Thunder had control of the position. Thunder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Thunder looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ibarra on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ibarra tries to get out of the position. Thunder has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ibarra defend it? Thunder steps over the head and cranks it - Ibarra is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Thunder!
