Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Carter (ranked 25134 p4p, 5861 weight class) and Frank Grant (ranked 196 p4p, 112 weight class). Grant is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kamate Kamate. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wayne Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Grant! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter drives through and clinches with Grant against the cage.
Carter is working for takedown but Grant is calmly controlling the position for now. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Grant creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Carter can't get the takedown.
Carter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Carter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Grant smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter throws a hook to the side of Grant's head but Grant sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Nice sprawl there from Grant as Carter shoots in. Carter doesn't succeed with the takedown and Grant counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Grant drives through and clinches with Carter against the cage.
Grant pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carter loads up on a big right hand but Grant slips the punch. Grant changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Carter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grant wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Carter looks for a takedown but Grant sprawls well. Grant with the counter takedown but Carter avoids it easily. Carter is breathing heavily. Grant clinches with his opponent.
Carter prevents a body shot from Grant. Carter has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Grant uses from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carter is trying to control the position but Grant postures up. Grant trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grant decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carter, up you get! Grant clinches. Carter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Grant just stands there and leans against the cage. Grant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carter takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grant sprawls well. Grant wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carter gets slowly back to his feet. Grant tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Grant moves into range and clinches up with Carter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Grant lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Carter backwards. Grant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carter pushes Grant up against the cage in a clinch. Grant gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carter.

Grant feints a jab promting Carter to slip. Grant then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carter slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Wayne Carter has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. The fight moves into the clinch position. A short right hand to the side of the head by Grant. Grant stalling against the cage.
Grant is trying to push Carter away but Carter has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Carter jumps guard but Grant turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Carter tries for a takedown but Grant manages to get underhooks.
Grant lands an elbow inside that Carter shrugs off. Grant gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Grant dominated that round. The cut man is working on Wayne Carter's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Carter throws a leg kick that misses. Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grant tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grant to the ground. Grant escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Grant gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carter wants a takedown but no success here.
Grant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Grant stalks Carter and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carter's face. Carter staggers backwards, shaken. Grant fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carter, pushing him back against the cage. Carter is trying to drag Grant to the mat but Grant just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. With the fighters up against the cage, Grant throws an elbow but misses. Carter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Grant is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Carter throws a right and a left that both miss. Grant drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Carter defends it well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter. Grant with the counter takedown but Carter avoids it easily. Grant lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Grant moves into the clinch. Grant pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Frank Grant seems to be getting the better of the standup. Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter. Grant closes the distance and pushes Carter back into the cage.

Carter wants to clinch up but Grant keeps it at a distance. Grant changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Grant lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Grant has closed the distance and engaged Carter in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grant breaks from the clinch.
Carter shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Wayne Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Grant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Grant misses with a few strikes there.

Carter is looking to counter the offense by Grant and move into the clinch. Grant tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes. Grant tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance. Carter throws a big counter combination but Grant scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Grant has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grant tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grant to the ground. Grant closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grant pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carter misses with a looping right. Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Grant kicks Carter off and gets back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Grant showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Wayne Carter's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! A head kick from Grant lands but Carter takes it in his stride. Carter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grant swivels and escapes. Grant drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Carter defends it well. Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter. Carter shoots in for a takedown but Grant shows good takedown defense. Grant moves into range and clinches up with Carter. Grant blocks an uppercut.

Grant is in close to Carter's body, working some short punches and elbows. Grant throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Grant is pushing down on Carter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carter is fighting to maintain full guard but Grant has managed to sneak the leg through. Grant prevents Carter from standing back up.
Grant is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Grant eventually gives up the hold. Carter is looking for a sweep. Grant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Grant seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Grant missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Grant drops an elbow to the side of Carter's head. Grant scoring with strikes to the body and head. Carter has hold of Grant's hands but Grant slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Grant is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carter defends it well. Grant missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant working over Carter with some ground and pound. Carter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position. Carter trying to control from the bottom.
Carter is pressing down on Grant's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carter controls Grant momentarily but Grant frees himself. Grant connects with a couple of short punches. Grant preventing the sweep. Grant scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Grant throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grant content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Grant lands a couple of elbows. Grant gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Grant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grant off to one side. Grant instigates a clinch. Grant pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carter half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Grant.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Grant comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Grant has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
