Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Austin (ranked 4893 p4p, 3801 weight class) and Ricardo Nobalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simon Austin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricardo Nobalski! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.

Austin pushes down on Nobalski's head and hops out. Austin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nobalski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Austin somewhat. Nobalski fails in his attempt to clinch. Austin dives in and scores a takedown into Nobalski's guard. Austin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nobalski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Austin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nobalski for as long as he can get away with. Nobalski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Austin defends it easily. Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Nobalski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Austin is really struggling to control Nobalski but he's trying to hold on to the position. Nobalski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Austin is aware though and is defending well. Austin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nobalski keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nobalski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Austin quickly recovers to half guard. Nobalski passes the guard and advances to mount! Austin prevents Nobalski from taking his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Nobalski dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Austin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nobalski's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Nobalski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nobalski looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Austin tries to score with some ground and pound. Nobalski controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Austin controlling the position from side mount. That's three minutes gone in the round. Nobalski is not content to let Austin control the position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nobalski can't do much from the bottom here.

Nobalski is looking to work some ground and pound but Austin has wrist control. Austin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A close second round but Ricardo Nobalski will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Austin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Austin shoots in for a takedown but Nobalski shows good takedown defense. Austin sets himself, and Nobalski steps forward looking for the clinch! Austin avoids it this time. Austin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nobalski. Nice sprawl there from Austin as Nobalski shoots in. Austin shoots for a double leg takedown but Nobalski sprawls well. He's pushed Austin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Austin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nobalski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Nobalski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Austin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nobalski, pushing him back against the cage. Austin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nobalski pulls him back up using the underhooks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nobalski is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nobalski shoots in but Austin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nobalski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Nobalski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Austin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nobalski counters with a shoot takedown. Austin fights it but they end up in guard. Nobalski wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving. Nobalski slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nobalski is working to tighten his grip on Austin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Austin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nobalski is really squeezing tight and eventually Austin passes out! Nobalski breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
