Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Barker (ranked 4803 p4p, 6905 weight class) and Ceder Randal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Randal 's choice of entrance music: Spoonman. Greg Barker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Barker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ceder Randal ! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Randal throws a right and a left that both miss. Randal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barker, pushing him back against the cage. Barker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barker manages to end up in side control. Barker working away. Randal is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Randal can do anything to dispel that myth. Randal tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Randal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barker content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barker is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Randal has escaped the position, nice work there. Barker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Randal to his feet. Barker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barker has Randal pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Barker pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Randal tumbling to the mat - Barker dives into Randal 's guard. Randal seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Randal keeping moving, preventing Barker from controlling successfully. Randal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Randal preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Barker controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Randal throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Randal has a takedown stuffed. Barker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barker jumps guard and drags Randal to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Barker keeping moving, preventing Randal from controlling successfully. Randal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Randal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Randal drops back looking for a leg! Barker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barker manages to kick Randal off! Randal jumps back into Barker's guard.

Randal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Greg Barker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Randal is working an open guard so Barker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Randal is defended easily by Barker. Barker appears to be looking for a big counter. Barker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Randal can do to turn this around? Barker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barker is keen to just control but Randal is a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Randal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barker is one step ahead there. Barker throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Barker wants to control from the top but Randal keeps moving. Randal can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barker controls the pace. Barker trying to control the position from guard on top but Randal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barker trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Randal manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Randal is one step ahead there. Randal wants to pass the guard but Barker is keeping the position. Randal trying to control but Barker is working from the bottom. Randal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Barker is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Randal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Randal trying to control the position from guard on top but Barker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Barker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Randal quickly recovers to half guard. Barker controlling the action here. Barker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Randal ! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Barker dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Barker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Randal shoots in looking for a takedown. Barker tries to sprawl out of it but Randal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Randal just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBarker. Barker lands with a kick to the temple. Randal shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Ceder Randal has been cut. Barker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Randal was covering up waiting for the punch and Barker finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Randal looking for a sweep. Not yet Randal , not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barker trying to control but Randal is working from the bottom. Barker passes easily into side control. Nice work. Randal is letting Barker control him for a moment. The ground and pound from Barker seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Randal is not content to let Barker control the position. Barker wants to take a breather but Randal manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Barker.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Randal holds on and takes a little breather. Barker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Barker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Randal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barker wants to pass the guard but Randal is keeping the position. Barker is working hard here to advance position.

Oh, that's bad for Barker! Barker bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! A combination from Barker does no damage. Randal changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Randal has a takedown stuffed. Randal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Randal gets caught napping as Barker dives in and scores a takedown. Randal manages to retain guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Barker works a leg free and moves into half guard. Barker not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barker is keen to just control but Randal is a slippery customer. Ceder Randal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Greg Barker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Barker not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Greg Barker showed his dominance in that final round. Well Barker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
