The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Thayer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as $tone sprawls well. $tone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thayer gets slowly back to his feet. Thayer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thayer drives through with a takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thayer won't allow $tone to sweep him here. $tone controlling the position. $tone looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thayer passes into half guard.

Thayer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. $tone is keeping the position for now. Thayer trying to control but $tone is working from the bottom.
