Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Smith (ranked 4789 p4p, 7128 weight class) and William Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Reeves!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reeves tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Smith takes the fight into the clinch.
Smith throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Reeves blocks it with crossed arms.
Reeves is trying to break the clinch but Smith has him pressed against the cage.

Smith postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smith stands up over Reeves, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Reeves has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reeves can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reeves's head.
Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Reeves wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Smith throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reeves tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smith is in Reeves's guard.
Smith is standing up over Reeves. Reeves looks to escape but Smith dives into side control.

Reeves is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
