Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bummy Smesh (ranked 5383 p4p, 4880 weight class) and Derrick Buchannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bummy Smesh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Derrick Buchannon!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.

Smesh pushes Buchannon up against the cage in a clinch.
Smesh drags the fight down to the ground.
Smesh is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Buchannon dives into side control.
Smesh has one of Buchannon's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Buchannon decides to stand back up.
Smesh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buchannon defends well and Smesh ends up having to push Buchannon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Buchannon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smesh did well to prevent Buchannon getting side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smesh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Buchannon on his heels. He'll look to pass Buchannon's guard now, I'm sure.
Buchannon is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Smesh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Buchannon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Smesh can't fight it off and eventually Buchannon manages to take the fight to the floor. Smesh looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Smesh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Buchannon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Smesh is trying to drag Buchannon to the mat but Buchannon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Smesh struggles to land a body shot inside as Buchannon controls his hands.

Smesh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buchannon as he avoids it easily.

Smesh has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Buchannon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smesh wants to control but Buchannon passes into side.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bummy Smesh will probably get the nod.

Smesh drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Buchannon gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Smesh is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Buchannon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Buchannon has escaped and now he's on top!

Buchannon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smesh's guard.
Smesh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Smesh has a hand on Buchannon's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Buchannon takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Buchannon cracks Smesh with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
