Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Andreev (ranked 556 p4p, 415 weight class) and Alex Parker (ranked 68 p4p, 54 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Alexey Andreev has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alexey Andreev seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andreev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Parker to the ground. Andreev is now in Parker's guard.

Andreev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Parker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Andreev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Parker moves into range and clinches up with Andreev.
Parker can't find room to land a body shot as Andreev controls the action.

Parker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Andreev manages to avoid it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Andreev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parker but Parker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Andreev. That did some damage!

Andreev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Parker has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Andreev is on him like a limpet, forcing Parker back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Parker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Andreev drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Andreev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Parker gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Parker lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Andreev throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Parker lands a right hand that snaps the head of Andreev backwards.
Andreev has Parker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Parker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Parker closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Andreev! Parker dives in looking to finish! Andreev is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Alex Parker tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
