Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Jones! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and David Hoff.

Diaz is defending well but Jones drives through and ends up in Diaz's guard. Jones controlling from the top position. Diaz controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones controlling from the top position. Diaz is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones stands and steps away. Diaz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away. Jones looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Diaz wants to clinch. Diaz fails with a takedown attempt. Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diaz to the ground. Jones is now in Diaz's guard. Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Diaz, up you get! Diaz closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage. Jones turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones takes a little break here. Diaz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Diaz can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones cracks Diaz with a big elbow. Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Diaz is trying to improve his position. Diaz trying to remain calm as Jones controls from the top position. Jones has knee on belly and moves into mount. Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref rips Jones off and cradles Diaz's limp body as Jones celebrates with his corner.
