Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Muhammed Muhammed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muhammed shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Muhammed was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sanchez working to try and regain half guard.
Muhammed throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Sanchez is trying desperately to improve position. Sanchez wants to control but Muhammed is having none of it. Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Muhammed is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Sanchez is in real trouble.
Muhammed controlling the position well here. Sanchez rolled but Muhammed kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Sanchez tries to roll but Muhammed sticks to his back.
Muhammed somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Muhammed is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sanchez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Muhammed missing with strikes. Muhammed is persistently looking for the submission but Sanchez is defending it well.
Muhammed is breathing heavily. Sanchez tries to escape but Muhammed has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez covering up well under a series of strikes from Muhammed. Muhammed is looking for the choke from the back position but Sanchez is controlling his hands well. A lull in the action here.
Sanchez tries to roll but Muhammed sticks to his back.
Sanchez turns into Muhammed and is now in his guard.
Muhammed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Muhammed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sanchez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Muhammed manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sanchez is trying to escape the mount but Muhammed keeps good control and instead manages to take Sanchez's back.
Muhammed avoiding Sanchez 's attempts to control his hands. Muhammed has the hooks in. Sanchez is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Muhammed passes his arm under Sanchez's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Sanchez taps!
