Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Miguel Cotto (ranked 7060 p4p, 5920 weight class) and Carlotos Spiteri (ranked 626 p4p, 578 weight class). Spiteri is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Day to day basis. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 41 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miguel Cotto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlotos Spiteri! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiteri connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Spiteri dodges the punch combination from Cotto.
A solid leg kick lands there for Cotto.
Cotto lands with an uppercut that bounces Spiteri off the ropes and back into range. Cotto looks to score with a jab to the body but Spiteri is just out of range. Spiteri counters with a body kick. Cotto tried to score with a low kick but Spiteri checks it. A nice side step and Spiteri releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Cotto has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rabid Dog in the buildup to the fight. Spiteri steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cotto. Spiteri wants to counter the offense by Cotto and move into the clinch position. Cotto misses with a low kick. Cotto fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Spiteri on the side of the head. Cotto moves out of range of the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spiteri misses with a wild body shot. Cotto lands a head shot. Cotto throws a body kick that misses and Spiteri counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cotto thinking. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cotto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Cotto blocks a head kick by Spiteri.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cotto with a nice calf kick. Cotto throws a hook to the side of Spiteri's head but Spiteri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cotto lands a head kick!
Cotto closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Cotto tries to work over Spiteri's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cotto tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Cotto misses with a punch to the body.
Cotto tries to throw a body punch but Spiteri avoids it by throwing Cotto back against the ropes. Spiteri lands with a short shot to the head. Cotto struggles to land a body shot inside as Spiteri controls his hands.

Spiteri lands a nice uppercut. Cotto tries to work over Spiteri's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cotto tries to throw a body punch but Spiteri avoids it by throwing Cotto back against the ropes. Spiteri tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Cotto can't find room to land a body shot as Spiteri controls the action.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Spiteri creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Spiteri. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A head punch blocked on the inside by Spiteri. Cotto tries a body shot but Spiteri blocks it.

Spiteri prevents a body shot from Cotto. Spiteri stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Spiteri lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Miguel Cotto has been cut. Spiteri prevents a body shot from Cotto. Spiteri tries to work over Cotto's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cotto lands a nice uppercut. Spiteri scores with a shot to the side of Cotto's head. Spiteri blocks a body shot from Cotto. Spiteri lands with a light punch inside. Cotto digs a right hand underneath Spiteri's ribcage. Spiteri let out a lung full of air as it connected. Cotto takes an elbow to the temple. Spiteri presses Cotto against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Cotto tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Spiteri's elbow. Cotto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spiteri checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. As Cotto backs off Spiteri throws a huge counter combo but Cotto manages to avoid it all. Cotto takes one to the side of the head.
Miguel Cotto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spiteri slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Cotto tries a low kick but Spiteri avoids it. Spiteri throws a hook but Cotto blocks it. Spiteri scores with a body shot.
Cotto looks for the body kick but Spiteri saw that one coming. Spiteri throws out a counter right but Cotto avoids it with no problem. Cotto lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cotto lands with a slapping head kick. Cotto tries a head kick but it misses.
Spiteri moves out of range of the leg kick from Cotto. Cotto misses with a leg kick and Spiteri counters with a stiff right hand. A low kick from Cotto misses and Spiteri counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Cotto on his ass! Cotto wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue! This has been an exciting period of action! Cotto throws a jab when Spiteri was well out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spiteri checks a leg kick nicely. Cotto with the inside leg kick. Spiteri keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Cotto is rocked! Cotto misses with a leg kick and Spiteri counters with a right hand from hell and Cotto is out cold! A vicious knockout!
