Davis dives in for a single leg takedown but Rockhold sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
We've been told by Davis's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Davis is working an open guard so Rockhold takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Davis is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rockhold is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Davis to the mat. Davis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Rockhold really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Rockhold! Davis is hurt baaadly! Rockhold is firing away with more strikes - Davis is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
