Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ferreira Azevedo (ranked 3725 p4p, 4453 weight class) and Kevin Dunkan (ranked 165 p4p, 186 weight class). Ferreira Azevedo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kevin Dunkan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ferreira Azevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Dunkan! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dunkan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Azevedo was covering up waiting for the punch and Dunkan finishes the takedown easily into guard. Dunkan sitting in guard here, content to control. Azevedo looking for a guillotine here but Dunkan defends easily.
Dunkan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Azevedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dunkan wants to control from the top but Azevedo keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dunkan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dunkan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dunkan controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Azevedo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dunkan's guard. Dunkan looking to control.
Azevedo is stalling in the full guard. Dunkan keeping moving, preventing Azevedo from controlling successfully. Dunkan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Dunkan working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dunkan pulls Azevedo in close to his closed guard and prevents Azevedo from doing any damage or advancing position. Dunkan is trying to keep Azevedo in close.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Dunkan keeping full guard, as Azevedo tries to pass.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Azevedo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dunkan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunkan trying to control the position from guard on top but Azevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Azevedo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dunkan throws a strike but Azevedo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Azevedo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Azevedo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dunkan is trying to keep Azevedo in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dunkan is trying to hold Azevedo in close to prevent damage but Azevedo has managed to pass into half guard.
Dunkan is refusing to be controlled, as Azevedo sits in half guard. Azevedo controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Azevedo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dunkan keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kevin Dunkan will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Azevedo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dunkan is fending him off so far but Azevedo persists. Nope, Dunkan circles away and we're back to standing. Azevedo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dunkan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dunkan trying to control but Azevedo is working from the bottom. Dunkan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Dunkan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Azevedo keeping moving, preventing Dunkan from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dunkan is stalling in the full guard. Dunkan stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Azevedo has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Dunkan manages to get his head free but now Azevedo has transitioned to an armbar! Dunkan grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Azevedo! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
