Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardinho Pfeifer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Warga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Warga told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Pfeifer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pfeifer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Warga counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Warga.
Pfeifer goes for a takedown attempt but Warga pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Warga is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pfeifer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Warga.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Warga wants to control but Pfeifer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pfeifer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pfeifer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardinho Pfeifer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pfeifer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pfeifer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Warga does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Warga tries to get to full guard but Pfeifer has control of the leg.
Pfeifer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A nice elbow there by Pfeifer.
Pfeifer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pfeifer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pfeifer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Warga for as long as he can get away with.
Warga is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pfeifer tries to control but Warga wriggling away.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Ricardinho Pfeifer just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Pfeifer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Warga looks for a takedown but Pfeifer sprawls well.
Warga is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pfeifer.
Pfeifer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Warga paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Horrible takedown by Pfeifer or perhaps it was just good defense by Warga which made him look bad.

and Warga counters with a left and a right that stings Pfeifer.
Warga throws a leg kick that misses.
Ricardinho Pfeifer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Warga checks the leg kick nicely there.
Warga gets a takedown into half guard.
Pfeifer wants to control but Warga is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ricardinho Pfeifer dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Warga counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pfeifer won't be happy with that.

Pfeifer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pfeifer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Warga manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pfeifer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Warga is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Warga can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pfeifer controls the pace.
Warga throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pfeifer uses it to pass to side control.

Warga is not content to let Pfeifer control the position.
Ricardinho Pfeifer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pfeifer misses with a double jab.
Pfeifer misses with a series of wild punches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Warga dodges the punch combination from Pfeifer.
Pfeifer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ricardo Warga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
