PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ceder Randal (ranked 24871 p4p, 4423 weight class) and Greg Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randal kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Spoonman. Ceder Randal has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Barker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Randal changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Barker fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Randal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Randal somewhat.

Barker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Randal to the ground. Barker is now in Randal 's guard.

Barker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Randal shoots in but Barker avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Barker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barker manages to end up in side control.

Barker decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Barker feints and as Randal raises his hands in defense, Barker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Barker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Barker wants to control from the top but Randal keeps moving.
Randal can't keep his opponent in guard - Barker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barker lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Barker is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Randal 's half guard.
Barker wants to stand but Randal has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Barker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well Barker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
