PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Detektyw Pikachu (ranked 5228 p4p, 3190 weight class) and Tevin Felix (ranked 561 p4p, 411 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

Pikachu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Felix defends it nicely.

Pikachu goes for a double leg but Felix avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Felix continues to drive forward.
Felix is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Pikachu shoots in looking for a takedown. Felix tries to sprawl out of it but Pikachu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Felix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pikachu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Felix manages to avoid it.

Felix is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pikachu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Felix is looking to take a break and control but Pikachu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Felix is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Pikachu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Felix moves away.

Felix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Pikachu shoots in but Felix avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And Felix tries to counter it with a takedown but Pikachu pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Pikachu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Felix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pikachu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Felix can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Felix passes Pikachu's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pikachu is looking to control Felix's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pikachu avoid being mounted?
