Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gavin (ranked 1688 p4p, 2236 weight class) and Claude Dacre (ranked 191 p4p, 237 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Gavin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Claude Dacre! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dacre instigates a clinch. Gavin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fighters circling - Gavin throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dacre wants to clinch and Gavin counters with a nice uppercut. A jab from Gavin misses. The fighters circle momentarily. Dacre darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A telegraphed right hand from Gavin misses the target. Dacre scores with a nice strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dacre takes the fight into the clinch. Gavin can't break the clinch.

Dacre throws a body punch but Gavin moves out of range. Gavin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dacre was well out of range. Poor timing from Gavin. Gavin throws a hook to the side of Dacre's head but Dacre sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gavin circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gavin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dacre. Gavin stuffs the takedown attempt from Dacre. Dacre gets slowly back to his feet. Tommy Gavin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gavin goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Dacre comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dacre displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gavin throws out the jab. Dacre let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Dacre ducks under a wild hook from Gavin. A punch lands to the side of Dacre 's head but he takes it in his stride. Dacre slips a straight right by Gavin. Gavin misses with a head kick.

Gavin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dacre throws out the jab. Gavin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dacre can do to turn this around? Dacre ducks under a wild hook from Gavin. Claude Dacre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gavin throws a hook but Dacre blocks it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dacre fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gavin manages to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Dacre. Dacre throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gavin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gavin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dacre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gavin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dacre prevents Gavin from escaping the position. Dacre is looking to take a break and control but Gavin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gavin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dacre has just dragged him back down to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gavin trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Gavin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gavin is trying to get back to his feet. Dacre in side control lands a decent elbow. Gavin is pushing Dacre's head away, looking to escape. Dacre manages to hold on to the position though. Gavin throws a jab when Dacre was well out of range. Dacre clobbers Gavin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Gavin slips under a jab. Gavin misses with a left hand and Dacre counters with a nice uppercut. Gavin tests Dacre's chin there with a solid looking shot. A jab from Dacre misses. Gavin throws a lazy right hand but Dacre sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Claude Dacre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's going to take a lot out of Claude Dacre. Dacre shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gavin pinned against the cage. Gavin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gavin was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Dacre takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dacre tries to clinch up. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dacre tries to clinch but Gavin moves away and Gavin counters with a left to the body. Gavin keeps the fight on the outside. Dacre throws a hook but Gavin avoids it easily. Gavin is looking to counter punch.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Claude Dacre. I think Gavin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
