Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jenzi Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: For Whom The Bell Tolls. Jenzi Machida is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jenzi Machida! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua throws a head kick that misses. Machida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Machida blocks a head kick by Rua.
Machida drives through and clinches with Rua against the cage.
Rua gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Machida.
Rua trying to stall but Machida improves his position.
Rua works on Machida's body with a couple of short punches. Rua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rua scores with a jab. Rua throws a sloppy head kick and Machida holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Machida decides to pull guard. Rua looking to sit in guard and control but Machida gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rua keeping full guard, as Machida tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua working for a triangle but Machida defends it easily.
Rua working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Machida has passed into half guard!
Machida wants to take a breather but Rua is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Machida prevents Rua from standing back up.
Machida prevents Rua from improving his position. Machida is figuring out what he wants to do next. Machida is keen to just control but Rua is a slippery customer. Machida is looking for a kimura here.
Rua makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rua.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua looking to control.
Machida controls from within his opponent's guard. Rua working for submissions but it's allowed Machida to get to half guard.
Rua is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rua wants to improve his position but Machida is controlling well.
Machida trying to control from half guard but Rua is working away. Machida postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rua to stand up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rua throws a sloppy head kick and Rua takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jenzi Machida dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rua clinches but Machida breaks the clinch and Rua takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Machida fails to land the takedown. Rua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rua closes the distance but Machida moves to the side and Machida counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rua! Machida controlling from mount. Rua is just holding on here. Machida manages to take his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rua tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Rua really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Machida avoids the attempt from Rua to control. Rua is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rua working to try and regain half guard.
Machida controlling from mount. Machida won't let Rua get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Machida controlling from the full mount. Machida can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Machida is landing with some decent strikes but Rua is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Machida lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rua hang on? Machida controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jenzi Machida showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Rua lands a nice looking kick to the body. Machida takes a step back to recover. Rua misses with a two punch combination.
Jorge Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rua throws a head kick that misses and Machida counters with a nice double leg into guard. Machida trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua controlling Machida's posture. Rua throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Machida controls from within his opponent's guard. Rua looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Machida passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Machida perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Machida stands up from half guard. Machida is looking to clinch. Machida tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rua swivels and escapes. Jorge Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua misses with a takedown and Machida counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Machida. Machida wants the takedown. Rua is fighting it off but Machida persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rua's guard against the cage. Machida throwing strikes from guard but Rua blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua working for a triangle but Machida defends it easily.
Machida prevents Rua from getting back to his feet. Rua seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jorge Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Machida looking to pass the guard. Machida controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Machida looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Machida has momentary wrist control but Rua slips an elbow through the middle.
And that's the end of the fight! Jenzi Machida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Machida winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
