Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trey Diesel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Trip!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trip throws a series of strikes that have Diesel backpedaling.
Diesel avoids the head kick by Trip.
Trip shoots in looking for a takedown but Diesel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trip's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Diesel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diesel throws a right hand that misses
and Trip counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Diesel shoots in for a double leg but Trip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Trip shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diesel as he avoids it easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Diesel checks a leg kick.
Trip darts in looking for a takedown but Diesel gets double underhooks and turns Trip into the cage.
Trey Diesel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Trip.

Trip manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trip working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Diesel.
Trip really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diesel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diesel trying to control the position from guard on top but Trip is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Trip is working an open guard so Diesel takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Trip moves out of range as Diesel throws a body kick.
Trip goes for a double leg but Diesel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diesel continues to drive forward.
Diesel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Trip cracks Diesel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Diesel tries to clinch
and Diesel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Diesel tries to keep at a distance but Trip has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trip is working for takedown but Diesel is calmly controlling the position for now.
Trip gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Diesel.
Diesel is trying to break the clinch but Trip is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trip fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Diesel wants to get back to striking at distance but Trip won't allow it.

Trip jumps guard.

Trip working for a triangle but Diesel defends it easily.

Trip is working an open guard so Diesel takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Trip circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trip raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Trip closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Trip goes for a takedown in the clinch but Diesel prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Trip is trying to pull guard but Diesel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Diesel takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Trip creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Diesel manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Trip trying to control but Diesel is working from the bottom.

Diesel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Trip looking to improve position, pressing down on Diesel's thigh with his hand. Diesel seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Trip paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Trip's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Diesel picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
