And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Summers!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.

Adams thuds a left hand into Summers's body.
Adams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Summers throws out the jab.
Adams just misses with a punch to the body.
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Summers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Summers slaps away a takedown attempt from Adams, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Summers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Summers wants it to stay on the feet.
Adams rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Summers counters with a right hand to the body.
Summers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Summers swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Summers throws a hook but Adams blocks it.
Adams shoots in and drives through. Summers sprawls well.
A little jabbing left from Summers on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Summers counters with a nice uppercut.
Adams tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Summers makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Summers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Adams's head backwards.
Adams fails to land the takedown.
Adams throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Adams. Summers does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adams tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Summers defends well and Adams ends up having to push Summers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Summers swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Summers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Adams fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Summers manages to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Summers! But no joy.

Adams tries to clinch but Summers is having none of it.
Summers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Summers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Adams.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Summers throws a shot from downtown. Adams moves away and avoids it.

Adams gets a double leg takedown into Summers's guard.
Adams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Adams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Summers keeping full guard, as Adams tries to pass.
Adams cracks Summers with a solid left hand.
Adams controlling from the top position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Summers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Adams passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Summers is letting Adams control him for a moment.

Adams working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Summers, who protects the arm well.

Summers tries to buck Adams off but Adams is having none of it.

Adams swings around for an armbar but Summers sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Adams's guard.

Summers is posturing up here but Adams has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Summers tries to roll out but it's too tight and Summers has to tap! Slick submission there by Adams!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jamal Adams!
