Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ndamukong Song (ranked 4691 p4p, 4774 weight class) and Matthew Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ndamukong Song! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Dean! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

Song could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A nice combination there by Dean.
It looks like Ndamukong Song has been cut. Dean lands a really nice looking cross but Song seems unphased.

Song had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Left hook, right uppercut from Dean. Song shoots in looking for a takedown. Dean tries to sprawl out of it but Song keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dean manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Song shoots for a takedown but Dean saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Song gets a clinch. Dean escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dean lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Dean unleashes a big counter combination but Song bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Dean stuffs the takedown attempt from Song. Song gets slowly back to his feet. Despite the aggression on Dean's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Song shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dean defends it nicely. Song changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dean tries to avoid it but Song manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dean to the ground. Dean escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Song misses with the combination.

Matthew Dean dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ndamukong Song's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Song is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Despite the aggression on Dean's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Dean lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Dean throws a series of punches but Song avoids them all with ease. Dean tries to bum rush Song with a series of wild strikes but Song uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Song pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Song feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dean scrambles and gets back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Song looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Dean avoids the body shot from Song.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Song looking to pass the guard. Song looking to sit in guard and control but Dean gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Song trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Song working a defensive guard but Dean manages to pass into side control anyway.
Song is looking to regain half guard here but Dean keeps moving and retains side control. Song wants to control but Dean postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dean decides to stand back up. Dean steps back and let's Song get back to his feet. Dean is working the combinations to good effect here. Nice shot lands for Dean. Dean might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Dean lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Song throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dean's waist but Dean gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Song off to one side. A little jabbing left from Dean on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dean scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Song shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dean sprawls well. Dean wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Song gets slowly back to his feet. Dean lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dean. Ndamukong Song has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matthew Dean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Dean connects with a single shot there.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Matthew Dean! After the fight, Matthew Dean was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
