Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Adefemi (ranked 2587 p4p, 2388 weight class) and Steve Beef (ranked 359 p4p, 332 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Beef's choice of entrance music: British Grenadiers March. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

Beef closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beef lands in his opponent's guard.
Beef drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beef jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Beef is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beef advances position into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beef tries for a kimura but Adefemi is defending well.

Beef thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Adefemi is trying to improve his position.

Beef is trying to get an arm triangle but Adefemi is defending well.

Beef has hold of Adefemi's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Adefemi tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Beef cranks the arm and Adefemi screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Adefemi, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Steve Beef!
In his post fight interview, Steve Beef started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
