Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Logan (ranked 1201 p4p, 991 weight class) and Frank Diaz (ranked 149 p4p, 131 weight class). Logan comes to the cage accompanied by Inside. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Logan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Diaz! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz shoots in but no luck this time. Diaz takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Diaz ducks right into an uppercut from Logan. Diaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Logan prevents Diaz from improving position. Logan tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Diaz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Diaz looking to ground and pound but Logan is blocking nicely. A nice elbow there by Diaz. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz scoring with strikes but Logan is staying in there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz looking to control but Logan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Logan is trying to escape the mount.
Diaz working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Logan wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Logan taking shots to the head. Diaz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Logan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Diaz misses with a head shot. Logan uses the momentum to regain guard. Logan wants to stand but Diaz is controlling the position. Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Logan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Logan's legs - danger averted. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Logan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Logan has Diaz pulled in close to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Diaz stays in close to Logan's body and controls the position. Diaz scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Diaz stopping the sweep attempt from Logan. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Logan is on top in guard.
Logan won't allow Diaz to sweep him here. Diaz has a closed guard, preventing Logan from standing up. Logan trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz working for a triangle but Logan defends it easily.

Diaz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Diaz lands with a punch from half guard. Diaz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Logan working to try and regain half guard.

Diaz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Logan is surviving well by controlling Diaz's body position as best he can. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Logan tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Diaz throws a strike there. Logan manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Logan gets full guard. Diaz throwing strikes but missing. Logan is trying to keep Diaz in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz prevents Logan from getting back to his feet. Diaz won't allow Logan to sweep him here. Diaz postures up and lands a big shot to Logan's brow. Diaz distracts Logan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Logan has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Diaz is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Diaz wants to take the fight to the mat but Logan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Logan. Logan breaks from the clinch.
Diaz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Logan is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Logan circles away and we're back to standing. Diaz dives in for a single leg takedown but Logan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Frankie Logan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Diaz. Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Logan, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Logan against the cage but Logan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Diaz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Diaz has his takedown stuffed and Logan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Diaz has a takedown stuffed. Diaz is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Logan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Logan duly obliges. Diaz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Logan pinned against the cage. Logan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Logan seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Diaz dodges the punch combination from Logan.
Logan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Logan lands with a hook. Diaz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Diaz shoots in but no luck this time. Diaz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Logan throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease. Logan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Diaz is rocked! Diaz has a takedown stuffed. An attempted straight right counter from Logan misses the target. Diaz is still on wobbly legs! Can Logan finish him? Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Frankie Logan will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Diaz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Diaz seems to have recovered his senses. No luck with that takedown attempt from Diaz. Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Logan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Diaz misses with a takedown attempt enabling Logan to counter with a crisp jab. Frankie Logan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Diaz. Logan connects with a body shot that sends Diaz's belly button to the back. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt - Logan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Logan works the jab nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Logan throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Logan misses with a head kick.
Logan scores with a crisp jab that stopped Diaz in his tracks. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Diaz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! No luck with that takedown attempt from Diaz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Logan, which made it look bad. Logan leaves Diaz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Logan lands a jab to the head.
Logan scores with the left hand. Diaz knows he should have avoided that one. No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt. Diaz shoots in but Logan avoids the takedown attempt easily. A slapping body kick lands there for Logan. Logan keeps Diaz at a distance using the push kick. Logan lands with a shot to the body. Logan lands a high kick!
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Logan gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Diaz is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frankie Logan! Frankie Logan retains his lightweight title! Frankie Logan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
