PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Real Deal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrison has chosen K90 - Red Snapper as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. George Harrison is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Deal tries to clinch up.
Harrison with a poor takedown

and Deal counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Harrison dodges an elbow strike from Deal.

Harrison has hold of one of Deal's legs. Deal is fighting the takedown attempt but Harrison gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Deal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Deal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harrison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Deal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Deal has momentary wrist control but Harrison slips an elbow through the middle.

Deal had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Harrison is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deal Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Harrison's back instead.
Harrison wants to control his opponent's hands but Deal gets his hands free.
Deal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Harrison turns into Deal and is now in his guard.

Harrison drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Harrison jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Harrison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Harrison wants to control from the top but Deal keeps moving.
Deal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Harrison changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Deal is looking for a sweep.
Deal wants to control but Harrison postures up.
Deal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Harrison looks gassed!
Deal tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Deal flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Deal clinches up with Harrison and pushes him back against the cage.
Deal tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Harrison's elbow.
Harrison prevents a body shot from Deal.
Deal tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Deal wants to break free but Harrison has control.

Deal misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Harrison.

Harrison drags the fight down to the ground.
Harrison manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Deal can't escape the position.

Deal defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Harrison.
Deal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Deal really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Deal tries to hold on but Harrison pushes him away.

Deal is in all sorts of trouble here.
Deal regains half guard.

Harrison looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Deal is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Harrison pulls his head out easily.
Harrison moves into full mount! Deal won't be happy about that!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Harrison dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Deal lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Harrison thows a leg kick but Deal checks it

and Deal moves into the clinch.
Deal has had enough of the clinch but Harrison keeps him there for the moment.
Harrison prevents Deal from breaking the clinch.
Deal lands an uppercut.
Deal tries a body shot but Harrison blocks it.
Deal tries to break the clinch but Harrison is controlling the position.
Harrison is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Deal pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Deal landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Deal is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Harrison tries to score a body lock takedown but Deal shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Deal misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Harrison has clasped his hands together around Deal's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Harrison tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harrison has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Harrison is breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Deal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Deal is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Deal sneaks back into half guard.
Deal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Deal trying to keep a closed guard but Harrison is proving a slippery customer.
Deal striking off his back but it's not causing Harrison any problems.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Deal working a defensive guard here.

Deal looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Deal tries to strike from the bottom.

Deal has his feet on Harrison's thighs here. He's pushed Harrison off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Harrison screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
