Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Golles (ranked 2320 p4p, 4998 weight class) and Tom Hanks (ranked 299 p4p, 545 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Hanks tries to keep at a distance but Golles has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hanks is trying to force a seperation but Golles has the dominant position.

Golles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Golles lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Tom Hanks has been cut.
A combination from Golles does no damage.
Hanks is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
A left lands for Golles.
A swing and a miss from Golles.
Golles slips a jab and a cross from Hanks.
Hanks takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hanks misses with a takedown attempt - Golles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Golles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Golles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hanks up against the cage.

Golles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A head kick from Golles lands but Hanks takes it in his stride.
Hanks goes for a double leg but Golles avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Golles continues to drive forward.
Peter Golles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Hanks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanks glances at the clock... BAM! Golles nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Hanks crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Hanks is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
