Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lynn Steinheiser (ranked 4409 p4p, 5160 weight class) and Luis Alberto Perez (ranked 530 p4p, 576 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Perez's choice of entrance music: Mexicans with Guns - Highway to hell. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Alberto Perez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.

and Steinheiser counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Steinheiser loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Steinheiser trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Steinheiser's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Perez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steinheiser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steinheiser scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Steinheiser is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steinheiser trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Steinheiser missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Steinheiser lands a couple of elbows. Steinheiser passes Perez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Steinheiser has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Perez wants to get back to his feet.
Perez is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Perez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Steinheiser. Steinheiser wants to pass to mount but Perez is defending the position. Steinheiser scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steinheiser is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Perez is rocked! Steinheiser lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Perez quite badly. Perez pulls Steinheiser in close trying to recover. Steinheiser postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Perez on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Perez doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lynn Steinheiser! An out of breath Lynn Steinheiser thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
