Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donald Trumpet (ranked 419 p4p, 679 weight class) and John Ruth (ranked 57 p4p, 89 weight class). Trumpet's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Trumpet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, John Ruth! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trumpet thumps Ruth with a low kick. Trumpet misses with a kick to the body and Ruth counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Trumpet throws out a loose jab but Ruth uses good head movement to avoid it. Ruth throws an overhand right that lands on Trumpet's shoulder, as Trumpet tries to avoid the shot. Trumpet thows a left - swing and a miss! Ruth changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Ruth throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Trumpet was covering up waiting for the punch and Ruth finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruth makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Trumpet looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ruth sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ruth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trumpet swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ruth lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruth with a flurry of punches that miss. Ruth preventing the sweep. Trumpet has his foot on Ruth's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ruth works his way back into a safe position though. Trumpet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ruth pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trumpet is keeping the position for now. Ruth has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Q Club. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Ruth wants to control from the top but Trumpet keeps moving. Trumpet looking for a sweep. Not yet Trumpet, not yet. Ruth trying to control but Trumpet is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ruth connects with a couple of short punches. Ruth seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Ruth scoring with punches to the head and body. Trumpet manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ruth manages to get himself to full guard.
Ruth is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Trumpet stands up over Ruth, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Trumpet has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ruth looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruth managing to control the position. Trumpet wants to control from the top but Ruth keeps moving. Ruth has his foot on Trumpet's thigh. Trumpet stands and throws Ruth's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ruth seems a little lost for a moment, as Trumpet dominates the positioning. Ruth parries the strikes from Trumpet easily there. Trumpet is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ruth to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruth is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ruth is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Trumpet seems to be working for a kimura but Ruth defends the submission attempt. Ruth is not content to let Trumpet control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trumpet frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Trumpet wants to finish this one by submission but Ruth is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Trumpet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Ruth will probably get the nod. That's time! Trumpet's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Trumpet throws out a powerful jab. Trumpet throws a leg kick but Ruth moved away. Trumpet throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Trumpet throws a nice looking combination but Ruth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ruth misses with a wild body shot. Ruth fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trumpet manages to avoid it. Trumpet throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Trumpet is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ruth. Trumpet looks to land a right hand but Ruth moved out of range. Trumpet looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Trumpet misses with a lunging right hand
and Ruth connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Trumpet - that will leave a mark!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trumpet steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ruth. Trumpet pushes Ruth away with a front kick. Trumpet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ruth.
Ruth pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Trumpet throws a leg kick which misses Ruth's front leg but catches the back leg as Ruth tries to avoid it. Ruth takes a swing at Trumpet's ribcage but misses.

Ruth with a jab. Ruth is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Trumpet rather than just go for the knockout. Nice shot lands for Trumpet. Trumpet with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Donald Trumpet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Trumpet does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ruth throws out a counter right but Trumpet avoids it with no problem. Ruth misses with a hook. Sloppy strikes from Trumpet. Those never looked like landing. Ruth lands a nice looking body shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A leg kick checked by Ruth. Nice straight punches there by Ruth. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ruth. Ruth fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trumpet manages to avoid it. Ruth throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - Trumpet throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ruth fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Trumpet on the side of the head. A cross from Ruth lands. Ruth lands the left hand. Ruth misses with a series of wild punches.
Ruth has a takedown stuffed. Trumpet misses with a few strikes there.
A big left from Ruth misses. Trumpet throws a lazy right hand but Ruth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Ruth. Ruth throws out a loose jab but Trumpet uses good head movement to avoid it. Trumpet ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. John Ruth seems to be getting the better of the standup. A jab from Ruth misses. Trumpet uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ruth. Ruth gets a takedown into half guard. Trumpet is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruth's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruth's back! Ruth trying to control the action but Trumpet just sinks the hooks in. Ruth tries to escape but Trumpet has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Ruth just trying to survive but Trumpet is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Ruth has hold of Trumpet's leg, trying to break free but it's let Trumpet lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Ruth is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Trumpet throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Donald Trumpet! Donald Trumpet spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
