Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mantak Garuda (ranked 27 p4p, 803 weight class) and Kento Kawamata (ranked 5 p4p, 115 weight class). Garuda comes to the cage accompanied by Djiin Djiin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mantak Garuda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kento Kawamata!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Garuda's corner calls for a 1-2. Garuda obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Kawamata is trying to pull guard but Garuda turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kawamata ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kawamata no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kawamata is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Garuda defends well.

Kawamata jumps guard but Garuda turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garuda can't find room to land a body shot as Kawamata controls the action.

Kawamata looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Garuda has picked Kawamata up and slammed him! Kawamata can't keep hold of the triangle and Garuda manages to pass to side control!

Kento Kawamata has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Garuda in particular looking to stall.
Mantak Garuda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mantak Garuda showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Garuda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
