PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Pinochet (ranked 2820 p4p, 5021 weight class) and Bjorn Ragnarsson (ranked 288 p4p, 453 weight class). Pinochet comes into the arena with I Need a Pinochet blaring out of the sound system. Bjorn Ragnarsson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

I was talking to Pinochet's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Pinochet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pinochet in particular looking to stall.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ragnarsson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pinochet has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Pinochet is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Augusto Pinochet.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pinochet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Augusto Pinochet was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
