Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maurice Rue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Warren!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.

Warren throws a hook to the side of Rue's head but Rue sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rue tries to counter with a takedown but Warren is quick to defend against it.
Warren throws a nice looking combination but Rue bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ben Warren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rue swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Warren is now in Rue's guard. A big mistake from Rue there, giving up the dominant position!
Warren must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

My spies in PEAK MMA Fight Club inform me that Warren has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Rue counters with a shoot takedown. Warren fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Warren manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Warren wants to get back to striking at distance but Rue won't allow it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rue.

Rue is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rue is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Warren is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rue is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Warren is just riding it out for now. Rue eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Warren throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Warren lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rue circles away quickly and effectively.
Rue attempts a counter takedown but Warren avoids it well and moves away.
Warren lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Warren feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rues jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Warren will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ben Warren seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
