Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tander Silva (ranked 4800 p4p, 5148 weight class) and Terrence Sullinger (ranked 0 p4p, 174 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tander Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Terrence Sullinger!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.

Sullinger pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva is trying to drag Sullinger to the mat but Sullinger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Silva jumps guard but Sullinger turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Silva throws a punch but it's blocked by Sullinger.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Sullinger turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sullinger manages to end up in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva is being controlled here.
Silva manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sullinger's best efforts.

Sullinger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sullinger controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sullinger thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Silva is pressing down on Sullinger's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sullinger gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terrence Sullinger dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sullinger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sullinger is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sullinger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sullinger is not content to let Silva control the position.

Silva tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Sullinger is breathing heavily.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Sullinger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sullinger manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Silva wants to improve his position but Sullinger is controlling well.
Terrence Sullinger has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sullinger stands up out of the half guard.
Silva is looking to clinch but Sullinger is avoiding it.

Sullinger tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sullinger just stands there and leans against the cage.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sullinger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.

Sullinger's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sullinger's guard.

Sullinger is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sullinger keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Sullinger has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Sullinger slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.


Sullinger wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Silva's closed guard. He's half up but Silva has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Silva pivots and extends the arm, Sullinger falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Silva! Well done that man!
