Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Bloodaxe (ranked 4796 p4p, 4764 weight class) and Jabari Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Bloodaxe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jabari Perkins! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.

Perkins takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Perkins on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Perkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Bloodaxe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Perkins fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bloodaxe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Excellent takedown into side control there by Perkins. Bloodaxe tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Perkins unloading with bombs! Perkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bloodaxe manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perkins controlling the position easily from mount. Bloodaxe taking shots to the head. Perkins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Bloodaxe tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Perkins controlling the pace for now. Perkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bloodaxe is trying to reverse the position but instead Perkins has taken his back - oops! Perkins controlling the position well here. Bloodaxe rolled but Perkins kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Perkins is working the ground and pound. Can Bloodaxe escape? Bloodaxe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bloodaxe tries to roll but Perkins sticks to his back.

Bloodaxe looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Bloodaxe covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Jabari Perkins dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Perkins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bloodaxe can pounce on him.
Bloodaxe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Perkins. Perkins feints and as Bloodaxe raises his hands in defense, Perkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Perkins postures up.
Bloodaxe is wriggling around but Perkins manages to pass to half guard.

Bloodaxe tries to buck Perkins off but Perkins is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bloodaxe trying to remain calm as Perkins controls from the top position. Bloodaxe tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Perkins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Bloodaxe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bloodaxe looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bloodaxe fending off the submission attempt from Perkins. Bloodaxe grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Can Bloodaxe hold on?! Perkins is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Bloodaxe rolls, trying to escape but Perkins keeps control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perkins controls the action. Perkins lands punches and elbows. What can Bloodaxe do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A bit of a pause in the action here. Perkins controlling the positon. Bloodaxe fending off the submission attempt from Perkins. Perkins controls the action. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perkins has got one arm under Bloodaxe's chin. This could be trouble... Bloodaxe trying to control the other hand but Perkins gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Bloodaxe has tapped out! The fight is over!
