Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chelsea Salvacion (ranked 5509 p4p, 25285 weight class) and Scott Trip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Trip is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Trip!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.

Salvacion feints and then cracks Trip's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Trip down.

Salvacion tries to keep at a distance but Trip has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trip prevents a body shot from Salvacion.
Trip is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A bit of stalling here from Trip.
Trip tries for a takedown. No joy.

Salvacion successfully pulls guard.
Salvacion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trip not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Salvacion is trying to control the position but Trip postures up.

Trip shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salvacion pinned against the cage. Salvacion gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Salvacion tried to counter with a leg kick but Trip avoided it.
Trip tries for a takedown but Salvacion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Trip shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Salvacion manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Salvacion on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Salvacion tries to get out of the position.
Salvacion has control of Trip's left arm, preventing Trip from doing any damage.
Trip throws an elbow that misses. Salvacion uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Trip's guard. Nice move by Salvacion!

Trip has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trip keeping moving, preventing Salvacion from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Salvacion is standing up over Trip. Trip looks to escape but Salvacion dives into side control.

Trip tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Trip shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Salvacion as he avoids it easily.
Trip tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
As Trip looks to move away, Salvacion throws a big counter combo but Trip just gets out of the way.

Salvacion manages to pull guard.
Salvacion is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Trip can do to turn this around?

Scott Trip is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Trip shoots and misses
and Salvacion counters with a nice low kick that buckles Trip's knee momentarily.
Salvacion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Salvacion wants it to stay on the feet.
Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Salvacion throws a chopping leg kick but Trip manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Trip changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salvacion looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Trip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Salvacion fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Salvacion gets control of Trip's arms and successfully pulls guard. Salvacion will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Salvacion controls Trip momentarily but Trip frees himself.

Salvacion is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Trip is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Trip shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Salvacion defends it nicely.

Salvacion feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Trip throws a lazy head kick
and Salvacion counters with a good low kick that Trip was not able to check.
Salvacion throws a push kick but Trip slaps the foot to one side.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Trip! But no joy.
Chelsea Salvacion is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Trip fails with an attempt to clinch.
Trip gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Salvacion counters with a low kick, right behind Trip 's knee.
Scott Trip has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Salvacion, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
