Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Blood (ranked 24228 p4p, 2725 weight class) and Habib Putins (ranked 606 p4p, 343 weight class). Tim Blood could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Habib Putins's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Blood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Habib Putins! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Roger Salmon.

Blood looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Putins feints and as Blood raises his hands in defense, Putins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Putins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Blood working for a triangle but Putins defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Putins is one step ahead there. Blood throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blood is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Blood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Putins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blood's head. Putins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Putins trying to control but Blood is working from the bottom. Blood wants to sweep here but Putins controlling him for the moment. Putins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Putins controlling from the top position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Blood working for a triangle but Putins defends it easily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Blood tries for a takedown but Putins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Blood darts in looking for a takedown but Putins gets double underhooks and turns Blood into the cage. Blood goes for a double leg but Putins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Putins continues to drive forward. Putins has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blood is landing a low percentage of strikes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Putins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blood was well out of range. Poor timing from Putins. Putins fails to land the takedown. Putins takes a swing at Blood's ribcage but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putins throws a sloppy head kick and Blood counters with a shoot takedown. Putins fights it but they end up in guard. Blood stays in close to Putins's body and controls the position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Blood is in close to Putins's body, working some short punches and elbows. Putins trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Putins keeping moving, preventing Blood from controlling successfully. Blood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Putins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Putins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blood defends well. Blood in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Blood might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blood seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Blood drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blood jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Blood wants to pass the guard but Putins is keeping the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blood is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Putins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tim Blood will probably get the nod. That's time! Blood's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Blood shoots in for a takedown but Putins shows good takedown defense. Putins dives in and scores a takedown into Blood's guard. Blood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Putins is one step ahead there. Putins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blood is keeping the position for now. Blood looking to control.
Putins throws an elbow that misses. Blood uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Putins's guard. Nice move by Blood!

Blood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Putins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Putins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Blood is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Putins trying to control the position from guard on top but Blood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blood is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Putins defends well. Blood pulls Putins in to control the position. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Blood shoots and misses and Putins counters with a three punch combo that has Blood backing up. Blood nods at Putins to acknowledge the strikes. Nice defenses there by Blood. Blood fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Putins gets tackled into the cage by Blood. Blood maintains the clinch. Blood jumps guard but Putins stands there with Blood around his waist. Blood gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Putins has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Blood regains guard immediately. Blood is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blood keeping moving, preventing Putins from controlling successfully. Blood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Habib Putins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Putins tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Blood closes the distance and pushes Putins back into the cage. Putins is trying to pull guard but Blood turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Putins managing to block the knees to the body from Blood.

That's one minute gone in the round. Blood turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blood manages to end up in side control. Putins is looking to regain half guard here but Blood keeps moving and retains side control. Blood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Putins keeps working. Blood wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Putins, who protects the arm well. Blood working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Putins is trying to control Blood's posture but Blood avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blood tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Putins avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Blood. The strikes coming from Blood are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Blood looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putins is looking for a sweep. Putins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Blood is trying to get an arm triangle but Putins is defending well. Putins can't do much from the bottom here. Putins misses with an elbow from the bottom. Blood looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Putins misses with a head kick.
Tim Blood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Putins tries a low kick but Blood avoids it. A little feinted left hand from Blood on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Putins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Putins tries to clinch up. Putins shoots in looking for a takedown. Blood tries to sprawl out of it but Putins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Blood manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Blood is looking to counter with head kicks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blood darts in looking for a takedown but Putins gets double underhooks and turns Blood into the cage. Blood changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Putins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that's the end of the fight! Tim Blood showed his dominance in that final round. I think Blood has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
