Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Sanchez (ranked 4090 p4p, 5895 weight class) and Lester Neich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sammy Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lester Neich! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neich looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sanchez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Neich throws a right and a left that both miss. Sanchez appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Neich throws a hook to the side of Sanchez's head but Sanchez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sanchez moves out of range of the strikes. Neich misses with a series of wild punches.
Neich checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Neich throws a right hand that Sanchez ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanchez also avoids with ease. Neich throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sanchez tries to counter by clinching up but Neich breaks away and moves out of range. Sanchez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sanchez has taken the fight to the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sanchez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Neich regains guard immediately. Neich has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sanchez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neich is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sanchez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Neich to the mat. Neich regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Sanchez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sanchez passes into half guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Neich throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sanchez attempts a counter takedown but Neich avoids it well and moves away. Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Neich is trying to control Sanchez's posture but Sanchez avoids it. Neich tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sanchez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Neich struggling a bit here. Sanchez tries to advance to mount but Neich denies him. Neich wants to control but Sanchez postures up. Sanchez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Neich is avoiding damage well.
Sanchez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez decides to stand back up. Sanchez steps back and let's Neich get back to his feet. Sanchez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sanchez is controlling the pace.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sanchez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Neich trying to hold on to Sanchez's head to control him but Sanchez postures up.

That was a close round but I would say that Sammy Sanchez will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Neich is fighting it off but Sanchez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Neich's guard against the cage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Neich keeping full guard, as Sanchez tries to pass. Sanchez's corner is telling him to maintain position. Sanchez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez stands up from Neich's guard - Sanchez perhaps looking for a knockout. Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Neich.

Sanchez decides to stand back up. Sanchez steps back and let's Neich get back to his feet. Sanchez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Neich wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sanchez has him pressed against the cage. Sanchez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Neich's elbow. Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Neich can do to turn this around? Neich throws a head punch that misses. Sanchez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Neich wants it to stay on the feet. Sanchez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Neich's half guard. Sanchez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Neich wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

Neich takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sanchez in particular looking to stall. Sanchez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Neich for as long as he can get away with. Neich works his way to full guard. Good work. Sanchez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Neich is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sanchez dives into side control.

And that's the end of the fight! Sammy Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
