Funster comes to the cage accompanied by Village People - YMCA. Chubby Funster could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Anthony Merel's chin.

Merel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Funster.

Oh Funster is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Merel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Funster has time to react.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Merel cracks Funster with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Merel has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Funster to stand back up!
Funster shoots in looking for a takedown but Merel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Funster's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Merel is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Funster had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Merel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Funster walks straight into a right hand from Merel - that's dropped him! Merel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Funster from any more punishment! Funster complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
