Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earnie Shavers (ranked 4006 p4p, 3100 weight class) and Deontay DJ (ranked 426 p4p, 343 weight class). DJ has chosen Lil Scrappy - No Problem as his entrance music. Deontay DJ acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Shavers swings widly with a right hand
and DJ counters with an inside leg kick.
Shavers moves in looking to clinch but DJ pushes him off.
DJ wants to counter with a clinch but Shavers pushes him away.
DJ cracks Shavers with an open hand slap.
DJ wants to clinch up but Shavers keeps it at a distance.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from DJ.
As DJ tries to get set, Shavers tries to push him back and clinch up but DJ manages to avoid the attempt.
A swing and a miss from Shavers.
DJ throws a counter combo.
Shavers seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
DJ circles away from the clinch attempt

and DJ counters with a crisp one two that drops Shavers! DJ thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shavers to his feet! Shavers is in big trouble!

Earnie Shavers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shavers takes the fight into the clinch.
Shavers wants to get back to striking at distance but DJ won't allow it.
We've been informed that DJ has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
DJ throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Shaverss head.
DJ lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Shavers or not.

DJ escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Look low, kick high! DJ uses the oldest trick in the book to send Shavers tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! DJ is absolutely delighted - when Shavers wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
