Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Chaelsson (ranked 1472 p4p, 754 weight class) and Carlos Ruas (ranked 60 p4p, 30 weight class). Carlos Ruas has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Chaelsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Ruas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaelsson punishes Ruas's body with a nice straight punch.
Ruas misses with a body shot.
Chaelsson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ruas as he avoids it easily.
Ruas changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

We've been hearing reports that Chaelsson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Chaelsson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ruas tries to avoid it but Chaelsson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ruas to the ground. Ruas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Chaelsson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ruas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chaelsson scrambles back to his feet.

Chaelsson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ruas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ruas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chaelsson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ruas is in Chaelsson's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chaelsson connects with a nice short shot to Ruas's temple.
The cut above Carlos Ruas's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ruas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Carlos Ruas's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Chaelsson is trying to control the action in half guard but Ruas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Carlos Ruas's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
