The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goliath looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Goliath pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goliath shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Goliath shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Goliath avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Goliath looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Goliath wants to take a breather but Jones manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Goliath.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Goliath throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Jones feints and as Goliath raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Goliath tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Goliath is not content to let Jones control the position.
Goliath tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Goliath is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him
Goliath is looking to improve his position.

Goliath is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back!
Goliath tries to get the hooks in deep but Jones pushed the leg off.
Goliath is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Goliath is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Goliath is throwing shots to the body but Jones manages to wriggle free. Goliath pounces on him again and ends up in Jones's guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones stops Goliath from standing up.
Jones stands and throws Goliath's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Goliath is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Goliath is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jamal Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Goliath rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Goliath is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
