Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Barnes (ranked 3651 p4p, 5099 weight class) and Joe Dixon (ranked 465 p4p, 573 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by We Want The Funk. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Barnes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dixon quickly recovers to half guard.
Dixon wants to improve his position but Barnes is controlling well.

Barnes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dixon's head.

Barnes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barnes has managed to get both his arms back between Dixon's legs - danger averted.

Barnes stands up over Dixon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Barnes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Barnes is working Dixon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dixon looking for a guillotine here but Barnes defends easily.

Barnes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barnes connects with a nice short shot to Dixon's temple.
Barnes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dixon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Barnes winds up and cracks Dixon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Barnes lands a big elbow - Dixon is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Barnes !
