Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Irwin (ranked 2435 p4p, 24191 weight class) and Sho Pereyra (ranked 265 p4p, 507 weight class). Sho Pereyra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Irwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sho Pereyra!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.

Irwin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pereyra for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Irwin in particular looking to stall.
Irwin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pereyra is trying to get back to his feet but Irwin has full control of the position and if anything, Pereyra has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Irwin is trying to stick to Pereyra's back but Pereyra is turning into Irwin. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Irwin's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pereyra.

Well Irwin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Christopher Irwin decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
In defeat, Sho Pereyra stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm frustrated, so I'm getting back in the gym as soon as possible. That's it. '.
