Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Barnes (ranked 3514 p4p, 3847 weight class) and Gator Boudreaux (ranked 469 p4p, 495 weight class). Gator Boudreaux has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gator Boudreaux!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

Boudreaux buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've been hearing reports that Barnes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Barnes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Barnes there as he acknowledges the shot.
Boudreaux thumps Barnes with a low kick.
Boudreaux throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Eric Barnes has been cut.

Barnes defending well as Boudreaux loads up on a big left hand.
Barnes wants to clinch.
Boudreaux bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barnes's head backwards.
Boudreaux lands a nice shot to the body.
Boudreaux throws out a loose jab but Barnes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Barnes misses with a low kick.
Barnes misses with a body shot.
Despite the aggression on Boudreaux's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fight stays on the outside here - Barnes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Boudreaux connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Barnes momentarily.
Boudreaux scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Barnes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Barnes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boudreaux.
Boudreaux lands a leg kick that knocks Barnes off balance momentarily.
Boudreaux just misses with a punch to the body.
A low kick lands for Boudreaux.
Boudreaux throws a hook but Barnes blocks it.
Boudreaux walks into a straight right hand from Barnes.
Barnes wants to clinch up but Boudreaux keeps it at a distance.
Boudreaux bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barnes's head backwards.

Barnes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boudreaux is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Barnes misses with the head strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boudreaux is trying to push Barnes away but Barnes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Boudreaux tries to break free but Barnes pushes him back against the cage.

Boudreaux breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Barnes misses the target.
Boudreaux has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A bone on bone clash there as Barnes blocks the leg kick.
A low kick lands for Boudreaux.
Barnes misses the jab.
Barnes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boudreaux manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Barnes closes the distance and clinches.

Barnes pulls guard.
Barnes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boudreaux wants to stand but Barnes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Barnes is pulling down on Boudreaux's head. It's preventing any offense from Boudreaux, at least for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Boudreaux got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barnes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boudreaux has managed to get both his arms back between Barnes's legs - danger averted.
Barnes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boudreaux's head.
Boudreaux wants to improve his position but Barnes is controlling well.
Barnes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Barnes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Barnes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barnes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boudreaux with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barnes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Barnes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Boudreaux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barnes lands a heavy elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barnes scoring with strikes but Boudreaux is staying in there.
Barnes in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Barnes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Boudreaux looks a forlorn figure.

Boudreaux is rocked!
Barnes postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Boudreaux in real trouble here! The ref calls for Boudreaux to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Barnes!
