Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Torry Gomez (ranked 3874 p4p, 2785 weight class) and Eddy Gordo (ranked 444 p4p, 333 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gomez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pimp Like A Butterfly. Torry Gomez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eddy Gordo's chin.

Gordo rushes Gomez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gordo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gomez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gomez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gordo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gordo misses with a takedown attempt - Gomez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gordo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gordo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gomez finds it's way round the side to connect with Gordo's head.

Gomez throws a right and a left that Gordo avoids nicely.
A big left from Gomez misses.
Gordo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gomez defends it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gomez tries to bum rush Gordo with a series of wild strikes but Gordo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Torry Gomez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gordo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Torry Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddy Gordo.
Gomez throws a jab when Gordo was well out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Gomez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gomez throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Gordo crashing down! Gordo tries to stagger back to his feet but Gomez just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Gordo asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Torry Gomez!
