Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bea Mason (ranked 2790 p4p, 18509 weight class) and Cajetan Shashi (ranked 393 p4p, 664 weight class). Bea Mason could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cajetan Shashi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bea Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shashi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mason shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mason seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shashi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shashi trying to control from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shashi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mason. Shashi tries to get to full guard but Mason has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Shashi manages to get to full guard. Shashi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shashi trying to keep a closed guard but Mason is proving a slippery customer.
Mason trying to control but Shashi is working from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shashi is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Shashi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mason's guard.

Shashi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mason's guard. Shashi is looking to advance position but Mason won't allow it. Mason trying to control but Shashi postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mason throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Shashi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Shashi seems to be working for a kimura but Mason defends the submission attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shashi is working for a kimura but Mason is defending it quite comfortably.

Cajetan Shashi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Mason doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shashi counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Mason fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shashi avoids it really well and circles away. Mason dives in and grabs Shashi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shashi pushes down on Mason's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bea Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mason fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shashi sprawls well initially but Mason persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Shashi misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Shashi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mason pulls his head out easily. Shashi is looking to control Mason's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shashi avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason is trying to control the action in half guard but Shashi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Shashi tries to roll over but Mason keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shashi gets full guard. Shashi has control of Mason's left arm, preventing Mason from doing any damage. Mason slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shashi throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shashi is trying to control the position but Mason postures up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Shashi looking for a guillotine here but Mason defends easily.
Shashi wants to get back to his feet but Mason is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Shashi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mason won't allow Shashi to get back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shashi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bea Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason shoots for a double leg takedown but Shashi sprawls well. He's pushed Mason's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mason fails with the takedown. Mason sets himself, and Shashi steps forward looking for the clinch! Mason avoids it this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason shoots in but no luck this time. Shashi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Shashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice sprawl there from Shashi as Mason shoots in. Shashi is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Shashi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fighters circling - Shashi throws out the jab but it was never going to land. No luck for Mason with that takedown attempt. Mason darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Shashi manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mason keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shashi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shashi as Mason tries to tie him up. Mason is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Mason fails to pull guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shashi is trying to drag Mason to the mat but Mason just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mason is trying to break free. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A battle for position here, against the cage. Shashi manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Shashi manages to break the clinch.

Cajetan Shashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Shashi misses with a two punch combination.
Mason is looking to clinch. Mason gets caught napping as Shashi dives in and scores a takedown. Mason manages to retain guard. Shashi passes easily into side control. Nice work. Shashi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mason is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cajetan Shashi has got the better of the ground game so far. Shashi tries to move to mount but Mason blocks the move with his legs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shashi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mason knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mason is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Shashi is thwarting Mason's attempts to control the position. Mason wants to get back to full guard. Shashi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mason is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mason keeping moving, preventing Shashi from controlling successfully. Mason bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shashi's guard.
Shashi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mason defends well. Cajetan Shashi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shashi is pulling down on Mason's head. It's preventing any offense from Mason, at least for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Cajetan Shashi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Shashi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
